On Wednesday afternoon the 31 casino players who remained from the original 244 player field in the GBP2 500 buy-in Six Handed NLHE event of the WSOP Europe returned to the poker tables at the Empire Casino in London. Canadian player Andrew Pantling started as chip leader for the second day in a row, a title he lost during the poker game and recovered when the event was wrapping up.

After hours of good poker action, the final table was complete with the following poker players: Andrew Pantling from Canada with 627,500 in chips, Chris Bjorin from Sweden with 368,500, Phil Laak from the USA with 317,000, David Peters from the USA with 251,500, Ilan Rouah from France with 200,000 and Willie Tann from Britain with 72,000 in chips.

If Pantling manages to keep his advantage throughout the final table he will win the first prize of more than £170,000 and also a golden WSOP bracelet, coveted by all poker players in the world. This will be the first of five gold bracelets at stake in the World Series of Poker Europe poker tournament.

Since it first started in 2007, the WSOP Europe has become more and more popular and prizes have increased, as well as the number of players and poker events. This year the Series features five events, including a £2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event and a £10,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Heads-Up event.
